Press release: It's an uphill climb to justice
[Thursday, November 6, 2025. Belfast, Maine]
At oral arguments in the slander-of-title case on Wednesday morning, Nov. 5th, Judge Michael A. Duddy denied our request to attach Nordic's assets while we wait for his final decision in the case. Our attorney, Kim Ervin Tucker, filed an emergency appeal of Duddy's decision with the Law Court that afternoon. We are confident that we have compelling evidence that Nordic slandered homeowners Jeffrey and Judith, knowing the charges against them were false. We will continue our legal campaign against the company and deeply appreciate the support that HLH members have provided over the years. We believe that the recent sale of Nordic's property to Penobscot Bay Waterkeepers signals that the 51+ acres along the Little River's lower reservoir will be conserved and protected for the benefit of our communities...human and otherwise. Now we seek justice and compensation for the two people harmed the most by Nordic's nearly 8-year attempt to brutally wrest their property rights -- and their peace of mind -- away from them.
